Khazanah Interview : Tips?

Assalamualaikum.

Heiyooo peeps! Watcha doing doc? Hahaha ;)

Yelah. Tick tock, tick tock, banyak time dah went by kan? Like my lil' brother used to say " time flies mate!"

Eh. Ade Miss Little Birdie suruh I update blog and cerita kisah I kat Khazanah dulu. No, I was not WORKING there. And no, I was not being a museum artifact there. Hatuihh~

Khazanah punye interview la. Untuk Global Scholarship yada yada yada. Teehee ;)

A little bit I tell sebelum I membebel ryte.

Khazanah nie macam satu organisation under government. I don't understand specifically la how they work in the nation, tapi, for SPM leavers like you and me, atau fresh grads, atau siape-siapa yang teringin nak venture study overseas or locally, this is the place to start!

Under Yayasan Khazanah, they gave out sponsorships untuk those yang excel giler-giler in academics, cocuriculums and has strong leadership skills. (to which I don't excel much in any of that. Huhu T_T)

So, it was certainly after Trial SPM exam, our school counsellor, Chegu Fairuz, called me in. Said that ade scholarship yada yada yada. Time tu bosan giler dengar chegu cakap (this stunts are not to be done okayy! Tak baik punye perangai). So, I biar je member yang lain dengar. 

So, I berangan la. Woow, lawa la painting kat dinding tuh. Haha ;)

Okeh. Next step, dapat borang. Er, kat sini for you guys yang ade hajat nak apply, I tak mampu la nak tolong ape ke, sebab you have to fill that in by yourself la! Orait boyss?

A few tips in hand, time tengah isi tu, start dengan bismillahirahmanirrahim. Yelah, pergantungan kepada Yang Maha Esa tu penting in this kinda stuffs. Kita tak tahu, maybe Allah boleh tolong, tetibe borang kite terus sampai ke CEO Yayasan Khazanah kan? Woow, hebadd giler kentang tuh! We donno eh?

Rite, let's straight go to our session part where the interview comes in.

Khazanah's interview ni is splitted into 4 stages. Haha dengar macam "eleh sikit je la. Boleh je lepas". Well, you might think twice, it ain't that easy. You really have to work hard aye?

First Stage : IQ Test ;)

Haha. Part ni best giler. Die punya IQ Test is quite simple, really! Cume it's time limit laa yang make it way, way harder than imagined. Fuhhh! 

What's some of the questions?

Well, I can't particularly draw kat sini, can I? Tapi simple je. 

Contoh 1: Die akan bagi a few words.  Cat, Dog, Animal

Then die ade kasi a few Venn Diagrams (sila search google kalau tak tahu).

Rite, from there, you have to choose, which Venn Diagram suits the most with da three words. No, you do not need to fill the words into the diagrams. Just choose the correct one.

Jawapannye: Kene cari kaitan dulu antara Cat, Dog, dengan Animal. Cat dengan Dog adalah Animals right, tapi Cat dengan Dog tak sama kan? So, kene la find out diagram mane yang sesuai. Capice? *kalau still tak paham, nanti I'll try sending you the diagrams, if nak la! Hehe ;)

Contoh 2: Die kasi 4 gambar. 

Jawapan : Kene nomborkan gambar-gambar tu supaya jadi satu cerita yang menarik dan lawak. *katenye lawak, but I still can't get the jokes though*

Sarah (my member) kate, soalan tu takde jawapan clear. Sebabnye "kalau susun macam mana pun, kita still akan reka cerita sendiri! Haha. That I have to agree. Betul jugak kan? 

Contoh 3 : Die kasi a series of numbers. Kena cari the last two numbers dalam progression tuh.

Jawapan: Sounds like addmath huh? Pfft. Nonsense, its quite simple math actually. Budak tadika pun boleh punya! The answer is all bile orang yang handle tu kasi contoh soalan. Ade sorang hot guy (ahaks) yang akan terangkan dulu camne nak jawab each sets of questions. So, dengar patiently apa yang dia cakap! Seriously, ramai time tu tak dengar, sebab time tu la dia tunjukkan cara nak jawab itu soalan maa! 

That's just about some yang I ingat. Yang lain, you guys go with the flow je la eh?

Second Stage : Workshop and Interview

Stage ni memang giler gempak best lahh! Kalau you guys past through the First Stage, you guys ade chance nak chill out dekat PNB Darby Park Hotel in the middle of KL. Sweet!

I was shocked. Daripada 13 orang yang pergi first stage tuh, only 2 person gt by! Terkejut memang giler kentang ahh terkejut! It was me, and another schoolmate of mine, a boy. Ceshh! *sibuk je die nie*

Haha. Nonetheless, bile tahu kitorang berdua je yang pergi, rase macam WHATT ??! How come? Tak kan ade orang lain. Bile Chegu Fairuz tunjuk the faz letter, betullah. Memang our names je. Shoot!

Packed up. Tak bawak banyak barang pun. School uniform. Baju tidur. Yada yada yada. You know the drill kan? 

3 Days 2 Nights in a 5 STAR hotel was pure awesome rockness!!

No, we didn't share the same room! Nauzubillahi minzalik. MIne was on the 12th floor, while his on the 26th, I think? (cause I helped him in the lift yang memang rase alien giler.)

Chegu Fairuz just drop us kat lobby, daftar, then went straight back home with a simple word "GLuck!" *what the shoot is 'gluck'?*

Okay. Masuk room, I thought is was MY room, and only for ME. Alas, it was an apartment. I went throughout the room and knew that I was sharing with 7 other girls. 4 from MRSM Langkawi, 1 from MRSM Taiping, 1 from Tengku Petra and a girl from Kolej Yayasan Melaka. Haha ;) *budak hebat hebat*

Malam tu, dinner was fantastic. Don't talk bout food. Memang everyday delicious ma! Don't worry about being fat, cause you'll be fat at the end of the trip. Just joking! >.<

 Second Day:

Alls well, I got up late that particular morning, then knowing schoolmate I tu call the room, suruh member apartment tolong kejutkan. Bapakk seriously malu giler time tuh. Don't ask me how it felt!

Nak cepat-cepat iron baju, my tudung almost got burned! Arghh! So not my best day. *nasib ada spare part*

 So, I ate KokoKrunch and milk, itupun tak finish sebab rase loya tekak. Nervous seh! Tak lalu makan terus. Kurus laa I camni.

So, kitorang berkumpul and register kat Diamond Hall ke ape tah name die. *tak ingat*. Time tu la, I jumpa terang-terangan dengan schoolmate I tu, and I brief him sikit pasal interview nanti. Oh, a quick reminder, malam before interview tuh, do some research and blogs regarding cara-cara nak interview nanti (kinda like this blog la, but I merepek a lot really). You'll get some more ideas on how to go through it! 

The whole hall was packed with students. I can't count how many, but it was a tight fit la jugak nak cari tempat duduk. Cause you'll hae to find your seat according to your group name and colour on your given tags. Go Group H! Go Orange! And yezza! Alhamdulillah I was NOT on the same group dengan my annoying schoolmate tuh. Muahaha!! *evil villain laugh*

So, by then, Green, Blue and Red was escorted out to another hall, so we were split into 2. I called it, batch. *macam batch ikan sardin tuh* Any hoots, my batch went through the GROUP WORKSHOP first. The first batch had to go PERSONAL INTERVIEW first. Theirs was super scary. Haha!

GROUP WORKSHOP:

It was amazingly awesome!! Loved it. First, kitorang dapat task and we had to discuss in a group, what's the solution. 

Q: What should major companies do with Facebook for workers?

The subject was awesome. Facebook. So easy mann! But not quite that easy huh? 

This is the time to shine among others.

During group discussion, you have to take a step, and lead the group. 

Oh yeah. My group was 5 boys and 3 girls. Awesome shmawesome!!

Haha. Yeah, eventhough the majority was boys, I took it front and quite frankly speaking, led the group. Upon having my incredible awesome debating skills yang dah berkarat (harap maklum), it went out quite well!

Then, you and your groupies have to present it in front, as usual. Cliche?

Don't be shock when you're bammed with questions yang buat mulutku ternganga and somehow "Why haven't I think of that?" Uhuh. Those judges have hard-wired brains yang memang giler ahh. To be smart, you have to think like them, not be like them. Capice?

So, ada a few test lagi yang you guys kene go through next, as a team. No, my batch did not get any task that needed you guys to run out the streets like the seniors before, but I was sad actually. That would have been more FUN than having to do ENGLISH TEST. Come on!

It's like any other interview.

1. What can you tell about yourself?

2. How was your family? Can you tell a bit bout them?

3. What do you love to do most in school?

And yada yada yada. 

These kinda questions, kene prepare before hand. Memang this part kene mantap!

1. No selekeh, shabby clothes. Please wear smartly, baju kurung ka, kebaya nyonya ka, kepapaya ke, or whatsoever. But remember to you Muslims reading this, jaga aurat eh! Tak kerana nak cantik smart, kene buang prinsip kita. Lagipun, wearing clothes yang tutup aurat is way, way, casual looking. Trust me!

2. No slippers. Come on, terompah atau selipar tandas is out the world! Not so fashionista.

3. Bring a file. Your certificates or whatsoever. It looks even smart, making you look keen enough to meet them.

4. Lastly, always SMILE. Kalau tak boleh, cuba belajar dengan Joker. He likes to smile, a lot. Haha ;)
